Well it was definitely a strange game Saturday night with OU jumping to a 21-0 lead and then it became kind of nail biter in the second half. Unfortunately it has happened to OU before to much success early and the defense and offense relax and shift into low gear and it is very hard to speed back up when the other team starts to make a run. Fortunately for the Sooners, they found a way, Ryan Broyles was an absolute star making big plays all night, and bringing the Sooners back from a 1st and 45 to a first down with a great catch and run, when it looked like the Sooners would give it back to Kansas State with only a 5 point lead in the 4th Quarter. The Coaches were smart enough to keep Demarco Murray in at running back for the game sealing drive. Murray used his speed and power to put into endzone when we need it. Why they don't play him all the time I will never know. Quinton Carter had a great night intercepting Kansas State when the Sooners had let Kansas State have it on there 40 yard line after the Coaches tried to run out the clock by going for it on 4th down with around a 1:45 left. I know KSTATE had to score 12 points but Kstate scoring would have cut it to a 5 point lead with a possible onside kick that could go either way. Luckily Quinton Carter made the interception to stop the drive and seal the OU Win. The defense was great the first half and looked tired the second half. Well next week we have to go to Lincoln NB to play the Cornhuskers. Landry Jones needs to lead his team to a victory on the road to establish himself as a great Quarterback.
Go Sooners.
