Landry Jones took full advantage of his second start as the Sooner QB saturday, he set the record for all Sooner Quarterbacks with his six touchdown performance.  It is kind of odd we have had such great QBs at Oklahoma.  Josh Hypel, Jason White (Heisman Trophy winner), and Sam Bradford (Heisman Trophy winner) yet all of these great QBs are behind Landry Jones in the record books for TDs in one game.  Another great thing happened Saturday, we found a second receiver to start with Ryan Broyles. Brandon Caleb had a three touchdown performance in his cementing himself as a starter at wide receiver.   Adron Tennell who was projected to be the next great receiver at OU, showed again that he should be named brick hands by dropping the two balls that were thrown his way.  They finally threw to Demarco Murray in a half back pass saturday and he ran for about thirty yards. He proved what a great back he is by tip toeing down the out of bounds line while dodging tacklers and then jumped another defensive player in somersaulting into the end zone.

The Stars of the game were the OU defense who held Tulsa the highest scoring offense in the country to ZERO points.  The Sooners have got two shutouts in a row and that had not happened since the 1987 who had a player named Brian Bosworth on the Defense.  This years's defense has its own star linebacker named Ryan Reynolds who may not be as flamboyant as the BOZ, but is one of the most football smart linebackers to ever play at OU. Ryan was everywhere making tackles Saturday. Jeremy Beal and Austin English were dominant defensive ends along with Adrion Taylor and Gerald Mccoy at Tackles. Quinton Carter deserves praise at Safety as well for a awesome performance Saturday.  He was a man among boys Saturday.

We have a bye week next week, and then we have to play the number nine in the country Miami Hurricanes at Miami.  The Sooners are going to be in hostile territory. The defense needs to play just as well as they did Saturday to stop Miami's speed.  The big question is will Sam Bradford be back at QB.  I hope so, and he needs to be at 100 percent to come away with a victory.  They should also get the ball in the hands of Demarco Murray and Ryan Broyles as much as possible. They need to let Murry have 20 carries at least, and throw the ball to him at least 5 times.

Go SOONERS stop any chance of a hurricane Saturday.
