Vince's Thoughts on OU Vs Tulsa

Mark Andrews Score in OU vs Tulsa

Wow OU scores 52 against Tulsa's 38, the two teams scored a lot of points.  I really cannot fault the OU defense.  As I said in the prediction video Tulsa has some of the best receivers that OU will face all year. That QB of Tulsa was a great passer and runner.  OU's superior talent won out in the end.  Mark Andrews the giant Tight end we have been wondering about, finally got to play with a catch and long touchdown run, and another TD catch.  Baker Mayfield was awesome setting a record for yardage and passes. Perine got hurt and Joe Mixon did not play that much.  Not sure why.  We have a Bye Week and the next game is  West Virginia at Norman.

Vince's thoughts on the OU vs Tennessee Game

by Vince Bonner 10. September 2015 09:50

What we have learned in the first two games from the Sooners in 2015, is that the Sooners start slow. In the first half they only could generate 3 points and Tennessee had 17 points. Lucky Tennessee had earlier had a 4th and goal inside the one yard line of the Sooners and chose to kick a field goal instead of a try for a touchdown. Also the second half the Sooner defense really started shutting Tennessee down and kept the score at two TD lead for the Vols. Finally in the 4th Quarter the offense came to life and Sterling Shepherd started to catch key passes. Baker Mayfield threw to Smajie Perine to make it 17-10 score. The OU defense smothered Tennessee and Baker threw to Sterling Shepherd to tie the game at 17-17. Into Overtime we go and Tennessee scored first to make it 24-17. On the sooner drive Baker Mayfield runs it in himself on 4th down off a key block by Perine to tie the game at 24-24. On to double overtime and the Sooners throw a again to Sterling Shepherd right at the out of bounce marker and Sterling somehow stays in bounds for the Touchdown to give the Sooners there first lead of the football game 31-24. Tennessee tries to score but Sooners Zack Sanchez intercepts the ball to give the Sooners a great come from behind victory. Yes we don't have to hear SEC SEC now we can say Victory
